Military Macaws (Ara militaris) Green in color with a red forehead and small amounts of white, black, blue, and yellow on other parts of the body.
These birds are often overlooked as plain-colored compared to the more brilliantly colored macaws. Macaws are very intelligent and relatively easy to train.
They nest in cavities, especially in large soft wood trees in which they can modify the nest cavity. Diet consists of locally available fruits, especially palm nut fruits, nuts and buds.
The breeding season is from about January to March. They usually lay two to four eggs but sometimes more.
