Miao




Miao, on the banks of the Noa-Dihing River, is an attractive township in Changlang District of Arunachal Pradesh. Miao is 110 km north-east of Changlang - the district headquarters.

Miao is the entry point of Namdapha National Park. Points of interest in and around includes Mini zoo, museum and Tibetan refugee settlement where colorful woolen carpets of various designs are produced.

Miao is an ideal spot for hiking, angling and trekking. The best time to visit here is October-April.

Nring and Bordumsa to the north-west, Mpen to the north-east and Jairampur to the south-west are among the nearby cities and towns.

Miao has good road communication and buses ply from Dibrugarh to Miao via Tinsukia, Margherita, Ledo, Jagun and Kharsang. Dibrugarh Airport, 156 km away in Assam, is the nearest airport. Tinsukia Railway Station (115 km) is the nearest railhead.
