Mezereon is a small deciduous shrub with erect grayish twigs, found in woods and shrubs. It belongs to the family Thymelaeaceae.
It is cultivated in gardens and has lilac-colored flowers with fragrance. Mezereon is considered purgative and can be given for rheumatic, venereal and scrofulous conditions.
