Metropolitan Transport Corporation Limited, formerly known as Pallavan Transport Corporation Ltd, serves the
Chennai metropolitan area. At present the corporation has 23 depots and a fleet of about 2,773 buses. Metropolitan Transport Corporation Limited also runs a body building unit at Chrompet, a ticket printing press at K K Nagar and reconditioning unit at Pattulos Road, in Chennai. Tourists can hire the corporation's buses under contract basis.
