Metal Frost Work

Metal Frost Work is a special type of engraving used in giving a granulated effect to a metal object. The process involves a technique called chasing.

The designs are engraved on the metal using hammer and a blunt chisel. Scraps of the metal around the designs is then cut away to give a granulated effect to the surface.

In some brass articles, the granulated surface is encrusted with decorative copper pieces.
