Marsh Crocodile (Crocodylus palustris) is found primarily on the Indian subcontinent. Its color is generally light tan in juveniles, with black cross banding on body and tail. Adults are generally grey to brown, with little banding remaining. Diet consists of crustaceans, insects, fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals. Female usually lays 25 to 30 eggs.
Marsh crocodiles have a life span of over 40 years. The crocodiles are found in freshwater, including marshes, ponds, lakes, irrigation canals, and reservoirs, as well as saltwater lagoons.
