Marking nut (Semecarpus anacardium) is a small tree common in forests of India. It is also known as Bhillawa, Bhallatak or Bhalia.
Flowers are small, greenish-yellow, in narrow racemes. Fruit is very similar in appearance to the cashew.
The nut is used as dyspepsia. Marking nut is useful in anemia, fever, pimples, psoriasis, sore throat, splenetic, sprain, toothache, wart and tumor. The wood of this plant is also recognized as firewood.
