Mankulam Vishnu Namboothiri

Mankulam Vishnu Namboothiri was a Kathakali artist, from Kerala. He was the son of the famous traditional dancer /artist, Mankulam Kesavan Namboothiri, and the brother of Mankulam Govindan Namboothiri(an expert in treating snake-bites). Mankulam Vishnu Namboothiri has performed Kathakali, with all big artists in the field including the legendary Kathakali artist, Kurur Vasudevan Namboothiri. Mankulam Vishnu Namboothiri taught Kathakali at Margi, Thiruvananthapuram which is the pioneer Kathakali organization in Kerala. Alappuzha Kathakali Club has set up an award in his name, called Mankulam Vishnu Namboothiri Award.
