Mandala

Mandala is a symbolic representation of the universe, which originated in India, and is more prominent today in Tibetan Buddhism. Mandala in Sanskrit means circle.

Mandalas in the Vedas represent the different divisions of the Vedas. In Hinduism, Mandalas are mentioned in the Tantras and Agamas (sacred texts). During puja, the Mandala is where the deity is invoked. Visualisation and meditation is done with the aid of Mandala.
