Malabar Trogon (Harpactes fasciatus) is a 31 cm long medium sized bird commonly found in dense tropical forests, where it nests in the hollows on tree stumps. The male bird has red underparts while female is drab. The back and tail are cinnamon colored and the wings are blackish grey.
Malabar Trogon can be seen in the Kudremukh National Park, Karnataka.
