Malabar Grass is an erect grass, up to 3m tall with linear, acuminate, glaucous leaves. Aerial parts possess an essential oil. It contains citral, linalool, geraniol, citronellol, nerol, 1.8 cineol and linayl acetate. The oil blends well with soenting detergents, washing soaps and other home products.
It is also known as East Indian lemon grass and Nibu ghas. Lemon grass and its oil are carminative, valuable in relieving flatulence, digestive disorders, fevers and menstrual disorders.
