Makkar Kajay

Begonia Picta

Makkar Kajay is a tuberous rooted plant found in eastern Himalayas. Shaded ledges, along roadsides and among humus filled rock crevices are the places where it is spotted.

The plant is inactive in winter. The succulent petioles possess bitter taste and are added to pickles.
