Majja Dhatu




Majja Dhatu or bone marrow is one of the seven Dhatus in the body. It is enclosed within the bones. Majja and Pitha have origins in the foetal life and originate from the Medodhara Kala.

Majja Dhatu has the functions same as that of brain and nervous tissue. It fills the bony cavities, strengthens the body, and nourishes Shukra Dhatu. The Malas or waste products are oily components of skin secretion, conjunctival secretion and secretion of face.
