Mahishasura Mardini Mandapam

Mahishasura Mardini Mandapam is one of the eight mandapams in Mahabalipuram. The mandapam holds sculptures of Goddess Durga, mounted on a lion, fighting the evil buffalo-headed demon Mahishasura. Lord Vishnu sleeping on the coils of Adishesh the serpent is also seen there.
