Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation




Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC), is an organization of the Maharashtra government, established on August 1, 1962, with an aim to accomplish balanced industrial development of the state. By giving emphasis to developing and under developing parts of the state, MIDC helps to enrich the infrastructural development of each and every district and they also facilitate entrepreneurs in setting up industries.

There are 177 functioning industrial areas under MIDC divided into five star industrial areas, growth center, major industrial areas and mini industrial areas. The organization also promotes industrial sections such as automobiles, biotechnology, floriculture, food processing, IT and IT enabled services, leather and textiles. MIDC maintains a Hazardous Waste Management and Liquid Waste Management to keep Maharashtra clean. They provide water supply to their industrial area and its surrounding areas, and for several large and small local bodies.
