Mahanisheetha Sutra is an important text in the Jain canonical literature. It belongs to Cheda Sutras, which is a collection of texts containing the rules and guidelines to be followed by the monks and nuns.
Mahanisheetha Sutra basically deals with the confession and repentance associated with a sin committed by a monk or nun. The consequences to be suffered, incase the vow of chastity is broken by these religious persons, is also dealt with in this text. Apart from these, there is a detailed explanation of the good and bad conducts.
