Magar is an important tribe whose customs and religious ceremonies closely relate to those of the
Hindus. They usually speak Magar Kura language. Ale, Burathoki, Gharti, Pun, Rana, Roka and Thapa are the seven classes of Magar. Thapa is the largest class of the Magar. Inter marriage is permissible among the classes.
