Lynx (Felis lynx), a rare variety, is a large cat with long legs and short tail. Distinct ruff or fringe of pendant hairs frames the face. Iris appears in yellow-brown or whitish yellow-green. Pupil contracts into vertical rhombus. Ears are large and pointed.
Coat is soft and dense up to 5 cm at the back, and up to 7 cm at the belly. Head-body length is around 80 to 130 cm, and tail is 10 to 25 cm. Lynx stands 50 to 75 cm high at shoulders. Body weight varies in different regions.
