Lukhum




Lukhum is a hat worn by the men belonging to the Lushai tribe of Mizoram. It is pointed in shape, woven from bamboo splits using the open-hexagonal weave.

Lukhum is made up of two layers, with a packing of palm leaves in between. Modern version of this hat uses paper or plastic instead of the leaves. The outer layer of the hat is more closely knit.
