Shivling, Linga Purana has around 10,000 verses and is fifth among the 18
Puranas.
Linga Purana explains in length the significance of Linga Puja and the greatness of Lord Shiva. The present day worship of Shivling can be traced back to this Purana.
Like all other Puranas, it also deals with creation of Earth. Stories pertaining to Lord Vishnu and his incarnations, stories about Lord Brahma, lineage of Surya and Soma, importance of Gayatri, and numerous other tales complete this Purana.
