Lemon Pansy Butterfly




Lemon Pansy (Precis lemonias lemonias) is a common territorial butterfly found throughout south and central India and the Himalayas up to an altitude of 2700 m. It is very active and flies quickly. The insect is seen visiting damp patches more often than the others of the genus. It is fond of flowers of Aztec marigold, lantana, bachelor's button, ceylon carissa and coreopsis tinctoria.
