Lawsonia inermis Linn is a heavily branched shrub with grayish brown bark and small, white or rose colored flowers.
The leaves are opposite, subsessile, and elliptic, containing soluble matter, lawsone, tannin, gallic acid, glucose, mannitol, fat and resin. They have cooling, antibacterial and antifungal properties. It can be applied for headache and burning.
