Lau Chingri

Lau Chingri is basically a pumpkin and prawn dish. Lau means fresh white pumpkin and Chingri means small prawns. Vegetable ghee is used as the base for cooking. The marinated and lightly fried prawns and pumpkin are cooked with green chilly, sugar and salt and served hot after adding the grounded spices. Lau Chingri tastes good with hot rotis.

Lau Chingri is considered a traditional Durga Puja dish.
