Lashing (Gossypium arboreum Linn) is a cotton plant grown during
jhum cultivation in northeastern states. It belongs to the family Malvaceae.
Flowers are ideal for scabies and skin diseases. Seeds are considered a nervine tonic, expectorant and demulcent and are used in gonorrhea, gleet, cystitis, catarrh, hydrocele and headache. The leaf-juice is perfect for snakebite and scorpion sting.
