Kurma Purana was delivered by
Kurma, an incarnation of
Vishnu, during the narration of the story of Indradyumna at Patala. It deals with duty, wealth, pleasure and liberation. It also describes the seven oceans and seven islands.
It contains the conversation between Lord Krishna and Surya (Sun); Danvantari and also defines the Lakshmi Kalpa. It is believed that there were four samhitas for Kurma Purana. Now, only the Brahma Samhita is available. This text is to be given as a gift along with a golden image of tortoise.
