Kumbham, a rare instance of a traditional artisan community, is located at
Aruvacode in
Nilambur,
Malappuram District. It is a center for exploring craft, art and architectural designs based on natural instinct and hereditary knowledge. The center offers a wide variety of terracotta products including terracotta furniture, murals, wall hangings, household products and kitchen wares. Exhibitions of products are conducted in major cities in south India; terracotta workshops are organized.
The nearest airport is at Kozhikode, about 26 km from Malappuram. Nilambur is the terminus of Shoranur-Nilambur railway line.
