Established in 1955, Kumaran Silks in Chennai is a garment showroom spread over 60000 sq ft. The latest in textiles, silks and ready made can be found here. There are separate sections for sarees, silk specilaties, children's readywear and men's collections. Among the selections are cotton and fancy sarees, Kanchipuram sarees, slacks, romper and shirting and suiting. Shirting and suiting comes from the renowned brands such as Raymond, Grasim, Allen Solly and Zodiac.
Chennai has good road and rail connection with other parts of the country. At about 7 km south of the city is the closest airstrip, Chennai International Airport. Chennai Beach Railway Station and Chennai Central Railway Station are the major railheads.
