Kumar Gupta Mahendraditya
Kumar Gupta was the successor of Chandra Gupta Vikramaditya. He performed the Ashvamedha Yajna and adopted the title of Mahendraditya. During his reign, the empire spread to the south-west of India. He had a council of ministers to aid and advise him. In this period the trade was brisk and the traders had organized themselves into guilds. Kumar Gupta ruled peacefully for about 37 years, but by AD 450 he was attacked by the Huns and Pushya Mitra. He passed away in AD 455.
