Krishnarajpuram Bridge, India's first Stay cabled bridge is located at
Krishnarajapuram,
Bangalore, on
NH 4 . Also known by the name Garden City Skyway Bridge, it is 230 m long and is built on the lines of the
Howrah bridge of
Kolkata. It was inaugurated by the then prime minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee on February 13th, 2003. The bridge is supported by cables instead of pillars. This four laned bridge was designed by Swiss engineers and cost about 4.5 million rupees.
