Kothakota Saree

Kothakota village, situated in Mahabubnagar District of Andhra Pradesh, is renowned for its cotton sarees. These sarees are unique in the sense that its borders and pallu (falling edge) are made not of cotton but silk. The borders and pallu are woven separately. The color of the border contrasts with that of the body. The saree also features rich zari (embroidery) designs.
