Koli Tribe




Kolis is one of the primitive tribes of India. They are the native, traditional fishermen population of Mumbai. It is believed that Kolis, a ruling 'Kshtria' caste, was spread all over India. Maharshi Valmiki, the author of epic Ramayana, belonged to this tribe. Koli tribe is known by different names in accordance with the languages of the regions.
