Kolanupaka

About 80 km north-west of Hyderabad is Kolanupaka village, the site of a 2000-year-old Jain Mandir. The temple houses a 1.5 m high image of Mahavir carved in jade.

Kolanupaka is situated between Hyderabad and Warangal. It was the second capital town of Kalyani Chalukyas in the 11th century and the birthplace of a Veera Saiva saint called Renukacharya. The other interests are the Veeranaryayana Temple, Someswara Temple and the Kolanupaka site museum.
