Kodambakkam, best known as the center of the Tamil film industry, is one of the oldest areas of
Chennai.
This place was once a part of Puliyur Kottam and houses two Shiva temples dating back to the Chola period, namely, Vengishwarar or Vyagrapurishwarar temple and Bharadvajeshwarar or Valishwarar temple.
Attractions in and around Kodambakkam include Athi Tulirkavanathamman temple, Fatima church, Anna Park, Valluvar Kottam on the corner of Kodambakkam High Road and Vandalur Zoo.
