Khurana River

Khurana River is one of the main tributary of Zanskar River. It originates from snow waters at the base of the northern slopes of the Zanskar Range in the south-eastern Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir.

This river flows through the western part of the Zanskar Range before it meets with Zanskar valley, which in turn drains into the Indus near Leh. Its upper valley is U-shaped. Waterfalls occur in the side valleys of the Khurana and alpine meadows are found in the depressions. The area where the river joins the Zanskar River is the northwest of Markha.
