Khari Printing

Khari is a special style of embossed printing, used to enhance the designs on a cloth. This technique is practiced in Jaipur, Kota, Chittorgarh districts and in Kishengarh region of Rajasthan.

Gold or silver powder, mixed with certain ingredients, is layered directly on the patterns of printed clothes. This creates a special embossing effect on the clothes.

Khari prints are used to adorn skirt borders, blouses, sari ends and similar items. Floral patterns are the usual designs imparted using this technique.
