Kewra

Kewra is a traditional Indian perfume and is mainly used in cooking. It is used for flavoring exotic dishes and sweets. This perfume is derived from Screwpine tree, which is locally known as Kewra.

This tree, which grows in the swampy areas, has fragrant flowers from which the essence is extracted. The essence is available in either its pure form or in a diluted form popularly referred as Kewra water. Orissa is the major producer of this perfume.
