Kesarbai Kerkar was a renowned singer of Jaipur Gharana. She became a versatile vocalist under the guidance of eminent musicians such as
Ustad Alladiya Khan, Ramkrishnabuva Vaze and Bhaskarbuva Bakhale. She lived most of her life in
Maharashtra. The government of India honored her with Padma Bhushan, and Maharashtra Government with the title, 'Maharashtra Rajya Gayika.'
