Kerala, Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Academy stands to encourage and promote performing art forms in Kerala. It is the nucleus of all amateur arts clubs and training institutions in the state. Some of the main objectives of the academy are to encourage and promote dance, drama, music, folk arts and such other performing art forms prevalent in Kerala; promote co-operation among the artistes, art institutions and art organizations in the state; conduct festivals, camps, workshops and seminars for the promotion of different performing arts; promote publication of books on performing arts; and give encouragement to artistes through awards, prizes, scholarships and other measures to recognize meritorious work in the field of dance, drama, music, folk art and allied art forms.
Its model regional theater provides facilities for cultural programs. It can be hired for a nominal rent for outsiders. Natyagriha or mini theatre, with a seating capacity of 200 persons, is available for conducting programs. The artiste cottage is the guest house of the academy.

railhead is at Thrissur.
