Keerithodu Waterfalls

Keerithodu, popularly known as Thoovalar, is a waterfall set on a picturesque village located near Nedumkandam in Idukki District. The waterfall originates as a narrow stream from Kailasam and drifts through the village Keerithodu after creating three majestic falls on its way. The awesome view of water cascading down from a height of over 200 m is a real feast to the eyes.

The specialty of these falls is that as one reaches near, the falls appear to be a single one and not three. It is also an ideal place for the adventurous trekkers. Keerithodu is 7 km away from Nedumkandam, where food and lodging facilities are available.

Frequent buses connect Nedumkandam with Kottayam and Thodupuzha. From Nedumkandam jeeps are available up to Mavady. A 2 km trek along a dusty bumpy road from Mavady leads to Keerithodu.
