Katuka (Latin name, Picrorhiza kurroa) is a stem-less perennial herb seen in the alpine regions of Himalayas. The herb has elongate, stout and creeping rootstock. It grows in open localities and grasslands.

Katuka is valued in the therapy for liver and lung diseases. It shows potent immunostimulant and anti-inflammatory activities.
