Karek




Karek is a rural village situated in the district of South Sikkim. The village has a population of 70 households. The majority of the people belong to tribal groups and agriculture is their main occupation. Paddy, vegetables and mustard are the major agricultural produce.

The village is 6 km from the town of Singtam. New Jalpaiguri Junction Railway Station is the nearest railhead. The nearest airport is Civil Enclave Bagdogra near Siliguri in West Bengal.
