Kannayiranathar Temple is located at Tirukkaaraayil near Tiruvarur. The temple is spread over an area of one acre. It is one of the seven Saptavitanka temples. The temple tank Indra Theertham is situated to the north of the temple. The main festival is the annual Bhrammotsavam festival celebrated in the Tamil month of Vaikasi.
The temple is 13 km south of Tiruvarur and 5 km from Mavur road railway station.
