Kanjari is a one-sided drum. It is round or octagonal in shape with a diameter of 18 to 28 cm. Kanjari contains a set of small disc attached to its rim, which produces a rattling sound on shaking. The head is adorned with traditional motifs of ochre and green color, while the rim is decorated with ribbons and tassels.
Kanjari is believed to have originated from Persia. It is a usual accompaniment for the folk dances.
