Kanakeshwar




Located about 12 km from Alibag, Kanakeshwar is a picturesque village in Raigad District of Maharashtra.

The major attraction here is Kanakeshwar Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva. One has to climb 750 steps to reach the temple. Devachi Payari, Gaymukh and Nagobacha – a place of snakes – are also worth visiting. Besides, there is a pushkarni (water tank) with water all throughout the year. Mapgoan is a village nearby.

Pen Railway Station and Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport serves the area.
