Being a Vedanga, Kalpa or Kalpana Vedanga, is an ‘anga ’or limb of the
Vedas. It deals with the science of rituals (viddhi). Kalpa Vedanga describes about the public rituals in the Srauta and Sulba sutras. It also explains the domestic rites in the Grihya Sutras and religious law in the Dharma Sastras. Among the Vedangas, Kalpa and Jyotisha teach how to use the Vedas.
