Kalippankulam




Kalippankulam is a residential area situated near Manacaud in Thiruvananthapuram. The place lies on East Fort-Konchiravila route, around 2 km from East Fort.

The place is associated with an unconfirmed story of Umayamma Rani, the first woman ruler of Venad. The story goes like this, the conflict between royal authority and Ettara Yogam led to the burning of the king’s palace, the poisoning of Adithya Varma and the murder of Umayamma Rani’s five sons at Kalippankulam.

Konchiravila Devi Temple, Attukal Bhagavathy Temple and Government Homeo Medical College are situated close to Kalippankulam.

Thiruvananthapuram Central Railway Station and Trivandrum International Airport are the nearest railhead and airport respectively.
