Kadambari is a classical ancient
Sanskrit literary composition dated around 600 AD. It was written by
Banabhatta, and later believed completed, by his son. Banabhatta lived during the reign of King
Harshavardhana, in northern India.
Kadambari has been a part of folklore through the ages. It is the story of a low-caste woman named Kadambari, and her relationship with a famous king and dramatist, Sudraka.
