Kachhapind




Situated at an altitude of 1,656 ft above sea level, Kachhapind is a major town in Jammu District of Jammu and Kashmir. It is on the highway connecting Jammu (20 km) and Udhampur. A tributary of the Ravi River flows through Kachhapind. The neighboring places bounding Kachhapind are Saranjli in the west, Gagahpur in the north, Arda in the east and Sandrot in the south.

Amar Mahal Museum, Ziarat Baba Buddan Shah, Peer Khoh, Gadhadharji Temple, Mubarak Mandi Palace, Sruinsar Lake, Kishtwar High Altitude National Park, and Surinsar Mansar Wildlife Sanctuary are some of the tourist spots located outside Kachhapind.

National Highway 1A passes through Kachhapind. Jammu Tawi Railway Station served by the Northern Railways, which is on the Jammu - Pathankot line, is the major railhead to Kachhapind. The nearest airport is Jammu Airport, 8 km from Jammu.
