Kachabeswarar Temple




Kachabeswarar Temple is located at Thirukkachur, about 10 km from Chengliput, in Kanchipuram District. The sanctum which faces south has a Kodimaram, Nandhi and Balipeedam at the front. In the main mandapam there is an idol of Lord Vishnu in the form of tortoise, worshipping Lord Shiva. There are separate shrines for the Navagrahas. Carvings of the images of Annamalayar, Kamakshi and Sadhurmuga Sandigeswarar are found on the pillars. The temple is on the way to Sriperumpudur from Singaperumalkovil. The nearest travel base is Chingleput from where buses are available.
