Jungle Glory (Thaumantis diores), a famous variety among butterflies, belongs to the family Papilionidae of order Lepidoptera. It is widely distributed in
Sikkim,
Assam,
Arunachal Pradesh and
West Bengal.
Head, abdomen and thorax are dark brown in color. The wingspan is about 9 to 12 cm. The upper forewing and upper hind wing are dim brown with a prominent, large, iridescent blue band in the discal area on each of the four wings.
